Why Ninja Sasquatch?

Long before the studio existed, Jimmy already had his nickname. During his ecology studies at the Université de Sherbrooke, a friend nicknamed him Sasquatch because of his tall stature, imposing build, and reddish hair. More than twenty years later, that same friend is now in charge of Communications, marketing, and community development at Ninja Sasquatch Games.

So maybe the branding started well before the company was founded! The Sasquatch has since become the symbol of our studio: a legendary creature that represents our ambition to think big, our creativity, and our desire to create memorable games that bring players together around the table.

JimmyThe Head Sasquatch

Founder | Game designer

A big fan of strategy games, cooperative challenges, and mechanics that make you want to say “just one more game,” Jimmy is the brain behind Ninja Sasquatch Games.

With a degree in ecology from the Université de Sherbrooke, he wants to create games that deliver memorable experiences while integrating, as much as possible, a more responsible approach to creation.

Heroes Rising is the first game to bring that vision to life, but several other prototypes are already being tested, and ideas keep piling up faster than they can be realized. The Head Sasquatch clearly has no intention of stopping there!

Marie-PierThe Voice of the Sasquatch

Communications | Marketing | Community development

A long-time friend of Jimmy since their years at the Université de Sherbrooke, Marie-Pier joined Ninja Sasquatch early in the adventure. She is also behind a small piece of the studio’s identity: she is the one who coined the “Sasquatch” nickname.

With her background in communications, multimedia, and social media, she works to make the Ninja Sasquatch universe known and to build connections with its community. She focuses in particular on brand image, communications, content, and community development around the games.

In short, while Jimmy thinks about mechanics and how to make the game work, Marie-Pier thinks about how to tell its story, present it, and make people want to step into the Ninja Sasquatch universe.

YvesThe Website Giant

Volunteer developer | Architect of the digital den

Passionate about computing and holding a certificate in computer science with a software engineering focus from Université Laval, Yves agreed to put his skills to work for Ninja Sasquatch Games by building our website as a volunteer.

But Yves did not stop at a few pages. He is already looking further ahead and thinking about how our digital den can grow with Ninja Sasquatch Games.

Thanks to him, the Sasquatch now has a place to welcome players… and tell its adventures.
